Sanitize with a dedicated solution

After cleaning, apply a disinfectant spray made for grooming tools. This is especially important for frequent or shared use to prevent bacterial growth or skin irritation.

Apply oil regularly

Add two drops of clipper oil to the blades while the clipper is running. This reduces friction, prevents wear, and extends the lifespan of the blades.

Replacing the Wahl 2-Hole Blade – Step-by-Step

Changing the Blade in Your Hair Clipper is Essential for Maintaining Consistent and Precise Performance.

In this guide, we walk you step-by-step through how to replace the Wahl Professional Clipper 2-Hole blade easily and safely.

Tools You'll Need:

  • A genuine new Wahl 2-Hole blade

  • A small screwdriver (usually Phillips – star-shaped head)

  • A small brush or clean cloth

Clipper oil (optional, but recommended)

Installation Steps:

  1. Disconnect the clipper from any power source, whether corded or cordless. Ensure it is turned off and unplugged.

  2. Remove the screws from the old blade using the screwdriver. Unscrew gently and keep the screws in a safe place.

  3. Carefully remove the old blade after unscrewing. Pull the blade upward—do not use excessive force.

  4. Clean the area beneath the blade using a small brush or cloth to remove any built-up hair or dust.
This step ensures better performance for the new blade.

  5. Position the new blade in place and make sure the moving blade (top blade) aligns properly with the stationary blade (bottom blade).
The two screw holes must line up exactly with their corresponding slots on the clipper body.

  6. Partially tighten the screws before fully securing them. Leave the screws slightly loose so you can adjust the blade’s position.

  7. Precisely adjust the blade position. The top blade should be parallel to the bottom blade without extending past its edge.
Ensure the corners are even and the blade is perfectly straight.
Caution: Any misalignment may result in skin scratches or uneven performance.

  8. Once aligned, securely tighten the screws, ensuring both are fastened evenly and firmly.

  9. Test the clipper by turning it on for a few seconds. Ensure the sound is normal and the blade moves smoothly.

  10. Apply a drop or two of clipper oil to the blade while it’s running for a few seconds. This ensures smooth performance and reduces friction.

Adjusting the Clipper Power Screw

Most professional clippers have a power screw on the side to control motor speed and sound.

Why adjust it?

  • To restore optimal performance after extended use.

  • To reduce unusual noise or vibration.

  • To fix inconsistent power output.

How to adjust it:

Turn on the clipper.

  1. Using a small screwdriver, turn the screw clockwise slowly until the motor quiets.

  2. If the sound becomes too soft or performance decreases, turn it counter-clockwise slightly.

  3. Stop when you find the balance point: steady sound and smooth cutting.

Note: Make adjustments in small increments for best results.
